Charlotte Cullens is an inspirational fashion designer specialising in knitwear. Translating developments of research into knitwear she uses stitch, colour and pattern to connect with the wearer on an emotional level, whilst pushing our understandings of social norms and redefining gendered stereotypes through clothing. Resulting in fun, energetic designs that push our understanding of identity.
Charlotte graduated from Nottingham Trent University, from BA Fashion Knitwear Design and having worked alongside PREEN by Thornton Bregazzi, Mary Katrantzou and Sophie Steller (designing for Tommy Hilfiger, Savile Row, and many more); working in both RTW womenswear and knitwear departments, she has launched her own label.
Throughout her design work Charlotte has been successful in several design competitions. Including, being named One To Watch, selected for judging at Graduate Fashion Weeks 'Best Of', a regional finalist for SDC and had designs selected for a high street store, as part of the new range. Other successes include traveling to Shanghai to work alongside the design team for SPINEXPO and having work exhibited two years running within the trend forecasting areas. Print and knitwear samples have also been selected several times to be used within WGSN forecasts.
Since setting up, the brand has received international profile, traveling trade shows from Paris to New York, being featured on Vouge.com, Vogue Brazil, ASBO, Atlas Magazine and Pause Magazine. As well as having celebrity wear from Frankie Gaff, Noga Erez, Desta French, Ivy Mae and more.
Charlotte is a conscious and developed designer, keen to push and be part of the evolving British Fashion Industry, supporting and developing it in an efficient and modern manner through the use of knitwear. Pushing modern concepts to create playful aesthetics, that are big on colour and texture to encourage the wearer to be everything they are.
